Amma On Christmas & The New Year

January 3, 2009 by · 1 Comment

On Christmas day Amma gave a message to those in her Kerala ashram stressing the commonality of love in all mahatmas teachings. Amma went on to explaine the significance of Christ both referring to himself as “the son of man” as well as “the son of God.” She said that…Christ meant he was both the body, which exists in time, and the Atma, which is beyond time. “He meant that he was both a human being, as well as God." “He meant ‘I am this [the world] and I am that [consciousness].’”

“On Christmas Day, Christian children exchange gifts and kind words and wish one another Merry Christmas. This really reflects a sense of brotherhood. Amidst our celebrations, we should also remember the life and teachings of Christ… May the Christ child take birth in the hearts of all my children. May our lives be full of love and

Deepak Chopra On Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

December 15, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi started out as one kind of cultural curiosity – a lone Hindu monk who aimed to teach meditation to the world – and ended up as a different kind of cultural curiosity: the one-time guru to the Beatles. He came remarkably close to fulfilling his original intent. Millions of westerners learned Transcendental Meditation (TM), and a new word, ‘mantra’, was added to the English language. He survived long after the departure of the Fab Four, who decamped almost as soon as they sniffed the thin air of Maharishi’s Himalayan retreat (excluding George Harrison, who turned into a genuine seeker and quiet ally).

Maharishi owed his survival to two things. He was sincerely a guru, a ‘dispeller of darkness’, who had the good of the world at heart, despite the wags who turned TM into the McDonald’s of meditation and the caricatures that morphed his white-bearded image into a pop cliché. Awakening #

October 13, 2008 by · Leave a Comment

The time of the world moves so quickly.
It is hard to capture with pen and paper the enormity of the experience in the journey of awakening to the true nature. How to describe the depth of not knowing, as the illusioryness of each personality/mind construct is revealed, the struggles of resistance to the death of this false self and it’s seemingly endlessness.

What an adventure this life presents, an endless wonder of discovery, ever changing and expanding, the great beauty of it’d paradox, that wisdom Is not knowing. Not knowing is fearlessness and slowly freedom dawns, returning to an embodying of true vulnerability and honesty.
