		<description>This is a terrific article, thank you so much.  However, a friend noted some errors in the list of physical benefits.

-“autonomous” nervous system should be autonomic.
-Galvanic Skin Response increase shows increased stress (as in polygraph test) so perhaps this is not correct.
-an increase inEMG, which would mean your muscles are twitching and you might be having a seizure; did you mean EEG?
-There is no solid evidence that meditation will always have a positive effect upon depth perception. Many conditions will be improved, but not blindness and the near-sighted will still need lenses or surgery.</description>

		<description>This is a great post.  The amount of benefits one can gain from a regular practice of meditation is incredible.  We live in a very stressed out daily routine and I sometimes wonder if society actually advocates this stress. Did you know last Thursday was &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.mymeditationgarden.com/benefits-of-meditation/social-interaction/mediation-on-national-stress-awareness-day/&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;&quot;National Stress Awareness Day&quot;?&lt;/a&gt; That shows you just how prevalent and accepted stress is in the US. 

I&#039;ve been meditating for quite some time and have noticed just how powerful meditation can be. It has had a great impact in my personal and professional life.  It&#039;s made me a calmer, less reactive, and more compassionate person. On top of that, it led me to realize that I was not happy in my chosen career (lawyer) and led me to becoming an online publisher.
