I'm Canadian, I'm white... and yet this affected me so deeply, I cried when it was announced--people all around the globe cried tears of happiness. It seems like there IS hope, America did the right thing and surpassed all the hatred that surrounded this campaign, surpassed the racism. You could almost feel the shift at the time he was announced president elect. These various people of different backgrounds coming together to endorse him is precisely what his campaign embodied; this is the start of the change he spoke of. America grew up a little the other day. I’m so happy that Obama was elected. It's refreshing to see all the spiritual leaders from different religions and viewpoints coming together to endorse him.
