I Watch

~

I watch
as if at shadows
on the wall
as emotions
tumble and fall
arise and dissolve,
from stillness
untouched,
the very core
where no wind moves
nor water flows
to unsettle
or disturb;

I watch
as lives in a flicker
rise and fall
as trees grow
and mountains form
as wars rage
and empires fall
as mothers cry
and babes are born
as worlds pass
and universes form
and no wind moves
nor waters flow
no movement there is
can unsettle
or disturb
the dweller within
the eternal heart
the one with all.
