Surrender
October 18, 2008 by Ray Baskerville
~
I surrender
kicking and screaming
against the fate
that I choose
with open arms
and dive into
holding onto nothing
wanting nothing
to remain
The death throes
of the past
are not short
or sweet.
The light comes
like spiritual electricity
the nerves shake
all is disturbed
a shock wave
through the being
like an orgasm with
no release
Yes yes shake me
please
let me quake
as slowly
death ends.

Wow. What a truly emotional poem.
Let me quake as slowly death ends…
Beautiful line – although that may sound sadistic or masochistic or whatever. It’s a really emotional line that I can relate to as a person suffering from depression.
